BASTIDE DU JAS DE BOUFFAN : French visit

For lovers of Cézanne in France and around the world, as well as for the residents of Aix and Provence, the Jas de Bouffan estate, never before opened to the general public, is a fascinating attraction, a place which retains an aura of mystique despite its direct links with so many of the painter's celebrated works.

The XVIII century mansion belonged to Cézanne’s family between 1859 and 1899.

At the age of 20, Paul Cézanne started out painting on the walls of the living room and outside in the park. A guided visit all around will let you see the different points of view taken by Cézanne himself while painting. As in the oval living room, a virtual recollection of his works can be seen.
