Painting and drawing in the Bibemus Quarries

The Bibemus quarries is a remarquable site that Nature claimed back. The stone’s color from these old quarries give their warmth to the town of Aix-en-Provence. The harmony among trees, rocks, colors and light is an invitation to contemplation and creation. On your walk, you will discover motifs which has inspired Cezanne and you will have the chance to paint and draw in this unique setting.
Thanks to an instruction adapted to all levels and publics, Pauline, a professional artist, offers courses in painting and drawing. After many years of experience, she will provide you with simple and intuitive tools to sharpen your vision and express what you see on paper. You can sign up for this course as many times as you want, practicing art in presence of nature offers endless learning opportunities. Basic material will be handed to you. Wear comfortable clothes and shoes, we will be walking about 2 to 3 km.
WHEN DOES IT HAPPEN IN 2025 ?
- From February 19 to 26, and from April 2nd to May 28th : every Wednesday from 2:30pm to 5:30pm
- From June 6th to August 1st : every Friday from 4pm to 7pm
- From September 12th to December 12th : every Friday from 2:30pm to 5:30pm
PRACTICAL INFORMATION :
- Visit in english & french
- Basic material will be handed to you (paper, gouache paint, pencils...)
- Meeting at Bibemus parking (3080 chemin de Bibemus), near the entrance gate, 15 mn before. Please do not use Google maps to get there.
- Walking shoes advised - the activity includes a walk of 2-3km on path, with a slight gradient
- 8 participants maximum
- For over 5 yo
- Duration : 3hrs
- For persons with specific needs, please contact the tourist office before, for us to confirm you the possibility to adapt the activity to your needs.
- You are free to bring any material needed for your comfort.
- The visit may be canceled or postponed due to extreme weather conditions (rain, strong wind, etc.).
Pets are forbidden.
