Presentation

Comfortably seated aboard the electric tourist train, the ‘In Cezanne’s footstep” tour invites you to discover the key places in Aix-en-Provence associated with Paul Cezanne, the Provencal icon of modern painting. The tour explores the places that inspired the artist throughout his life.
It includes a 15-minute break at the Terrain des Peintres, facing Mount Sainte-Victoire. A true source of inspiration for Cezanne, it was in this green
setting on the heights of Aix-en-Provence that the artist painted his most famous pictures. As you stroll through this open-air museum, you'll be able to
admire several reproductions of paintings depicting Sainte Victoire, Cezanne's supreme muse.
The tour is accompanied by scripted audio commentaries available in 8 languages, tracing Cezanne's life, his influences and the deep links between
his work and the city.
The commentary in French is broadcast directly over the loudspeakers. Headphones are also available for non-French-speaking visitors.
