FABIENNE VERDIER / From June 21th to january 5th, open every day except monday, from 12:00 to 6:00 pm.

This exhibition retraces Fabienne Verdier’s journey, from her return to France from China, where she lived for over a decade, to artworks created in recent months in the quarries of Bibémus, opposite Sainte-Victoire, at the top of the legendary mountain, in Saint-Antonin and other places. This is the artist’s first retrospective in France.
This exhibition will allow visitors to appreciate the artist’s work in its entirety, to better understand the lessons she learned from Chinese scholars following the Cultural Revolution and to see how, following her return to France, Fabienne Verdier developed a new aesthetic by basing herself on major movements of Western painting, from Flemish Primitives to Abstract Expressionists. The museum’s exhibition space explores six major themes to provide an overview of the artist’s work, its evolution, depth and variety.
Finally, the exhibition also features brand-new creations from her outdoor experience in and around Cézanne landmarks, revealing for the first time how the artist was inspired by nearly two years of exploring the mountain Sainte Victoire and places familiar to Cézanne.
